Live via zoom Yoga breathing for health and wellness
with Colleen Duggan-Cuomo ERYT500
Did you know – yoga breathing (known as pranayama) has been practiced for thousands of years? Ancient yogis knew breath to be the link between the body, mind and spirit and that shaping the breath can have powerful effects on health and wellbeing.
Some pranayama calm the nervous system, some invigorate, some induce sleep, others help focus the mind, etc. Modern research now shows that breath patterning does indeed do all of these things as it triggers the autonomic nervous system.
In this introduction to pranayama (yoga breathing) we touch upon the basic anatomy of the breath, practice gentle yoga postures that improve the bodies ability to breath efficiently and build breath awareness, and learn simple breathing techniques to elicit a desired response. After this workshop you will have a basic understand of why and how to implement simple pranayama into your daily routine.
