A Daylong workshop with photographer and poet, Paul David Shea
“I make pictures that sometimes turn into words. And I write words that sometimes turn into poems. Somewhere in between is where you can find me in my true nature.” ~ Paul David Shea
________
In this workshop, we explore photography and poetry as a meditation practice and as a way of going deeper into our relationship with Spirit. Through this exploration, the practice can become a pathway that opens us to experience the thin places where our soul and our heart and our Spirituality meet.
You will learn how to:
Drop deeper into the art of seeing beyond the surface of the subject.
Bring a deeper and heightened awareness to your present moments
Use your camera (or mobile phone) as a tool for connection rather than separation
Photography and poetry as a meditative practice
Through the use of metaphor learn to see with your intuitive self rather than your thinking mind
We will practice both walking and sitting meditation to bring us deeper into ourselves and to deepen our image making and writing.
For this workshop you will need -
camera or mobile phone for image making
journal and writing implements (colored pencils, crayons, etc encouraged but not required)
comfortable layers of clothing (parts of the workshop will be held outside and in our barn)
BYO lunch/snacks (we will provide water, tea)
