Yoga and Mobility for Upper Back, Shoulders and Neck

  • Breathing Lotus LIving Arts 7 Green Street Kingston, MA, 02364 United States (map)

with Tim Griffin, ERYT, CPT

Our lifestyle is such that we spend much of our time hunched forward over any number of things: phone, computer, desk, counter top, steering wheel etc. We simply don’t spend enough time in a healthy upright posture. This can lead to chronic imbalances in the upper back, shoulders, and neck.
This workshop will focus on the postures and movements that work towards relieving this kind of imbalance and the pain or discomfort it may be causing.

What you’ll learn:

•The context for upper back pain in us humans
•Exercises and poses/stretches used to help reduce discomfort
•Exercises and poses/stretches aimed at improving the strength of the upper back, shoulders, and neck

This workshop uses gentle to moderate movement so is appropriate for all levels of experience. It will conclude with a guided meditation for relaxation and the release of tension.

Tim has worked in the health and wellness space for over 12 years now as a yoga teacher and fitness coach. He is a registered, experienced yoga teacher, a certified health coach, and a certified personal trainer. He has also been managing his own back pain for 30 years now.
**This workshop is intended for those with a history of mild to moderate back discomfort, as well as for those interested in maintaining back health. If you are experiencing acute pain, please consult your physician.
